Parents and Apprentices Association of the Institut de Genech
The Institute of Genech has a dynamic and committed Parents' Association: the APEIG (Association of Parents of Pupils and Apprentices of the Institute of Genech). It combines adult conviviality with support for young people.
The role of the APEIG
The representation of families within the Institute is important. The school and the family are complementary and educational partners. The role of the association is to dialogue, relay, debate, propose and participate in decisions concerning the learners' working conditions, the general life of the school and its educational orientations.
Organisation of the school timetable, school project, internal rules and regulations, layout of areas dedicated to student life, catering and boarding issues, student support and assistance, linguistic and cultural exchanges, information relating to guidance, school and university studies, and professional careers—so many subjects covered!
Operation
How does it work?
The Association implements numerous initiatives through 7 committees that enable every parent to get involved according to their wishes, capabilities and availability. Each committee brings together parents and permanent staff of the Institute and proposes actions to benefit the pupils and their families.
The committees meet four to six times a year. Meetings usually start at 7.00 pm. Several committees remain:

The Call for Projects
The association provides financial support for educational, solidarity and humanitarian projects implemented by pupils and teaching staff from Genech, Lesquin and Bavay.
Examples of projects: road safety, smoking cessation, solidarity, food waste, theatre…
