The training

Level 3 State Diploma, awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. Registered in the RNCP under the number 38389.
Objectives
  • Providing daily care for equines (feeding, maintenance, etc.)
  • Understanding the horse and how it works
  • Maintain equestrian facilities and equipment
  • Participate in the horse's training
  • Acting in everyday situations using social reference points
  • Implement actions that contribute to personal development
  • Interacting with one's social environment
  • Perform routine care of equines
  • Carry out work related to the use of equines
  • Carry out work related to the routine maintenance of equipment, buildings, installations, work areas and surrounding areas

APPRENTICESHIP

In one year

  • Training centre: 480 hours
  • Work-study pattern: approximately 2 days at the training centre and 3 days in the company

Within 2 years

  • Training centre: 900 hours
  • Work-study pattern: 14 weeks at the training centre over the course of the entire programme

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In one year

  • Training centre: 480 hours
  • Work placement: 430 hours
  • On-site equestrian centre (50 horses, active stable...)
  • Digital equipment for each learner
  • Company visits, trade fair visits, professional guest lectures
  • Active learning, thematic projects and group work

Further study

The training course leads to a Level 4 qualification (Bac Pro, BP, Level 3 AE, etc.) in equine professions, enabling students to acquire the skills necessary to work with horses and progress within the equestrian sector.

APPRENTICESHIP (1 year)

For 12 months: €6,120

(The training is funded by the OPCOs and the CFA. The apprentice and the company therefore have no costs to cover.)

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (1 year)

€12.75 per hour

(Feasibility study of funding options based on status: self-funding, France Travail, career transition, etc. – to be discussed with the centre.)

The training course is open to anyone up to 29 years of age inclusive.

To take the training course, the candidate must:

  • Hold at least one degree from Level 3 or of a higher degree (for CAP in one year
  • Have a command of the basics: understand and speak French, read, write and calculate
  • Having a level of health compatible with the demands of the profession, particularly regarding the back
  • Interview within 30 days of initial contact
  • One-to-one interview and placement test

The skills acquired during the training are grouped into Capitalisable Units (UCs):

  • Each unit of certification (UC) must be validated at the training centre during the year through specific assessments
  • A course unit may comprise several assessments
  • All course units must be passed to obtain the qualification
  • Validity: each UC is valid for 5 years, allowing recognition of the skills acquired over this period
  • Premises: Fire safety regulations for public buildings (ERP) – Premises accessible to people with reduced mobility
  • Possible academic guidance and adaptation, mentored by a disability officer
