The training

Level 4 State Diploma, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. Registered in the RNCP on 15-03-2023, under the number 37563
Objectives

The holder of this qualification carries out forestry work (logging and silviculture):

  • Prepare the implementation of silvicultural works sites
  • Organise the site logistics
  • Carry out, individually or as part of a team, the planting and maintenance of plots (pre-commercial thinning, clearing, pruning, selecting and marking saplings, etc.) and ensure the monitoring of projects up to client sign-off
  • Carry out the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment used or machinery driven, and ensure compliance with the safety and environmental rules inherent to the tasks
  • Providing technical services (design and implementation of landscaping projects, sustainable management documents, etc.), commercial services to meet the requests of clients or users, and business development activities to expand the company's business (public or private)

Business management:

  • Technical, economic and financial management of the company
  • Business development of the company

Forestry work

  • Carrying out work to regenerate, maintain and improve tree stands
  • Carrying out manual timber harvesting operations
  • Equipment maintenance and servicing
  • Mechanised forestry

Work organisation and management:

  • Work planning
  • Organisation of a construction site or work period
  • Supervision of employees, apprentices and work experience students
  • Timetable and skills management

Communication:

  • Customer, supplier and user relationship management
  • UCARE: Managing the administrative and financial operations of the forestry contracting firm

The course runs over 2 years (1,000 hours):

  • 15 weeks at a training centre (500 hours per year)
  • 37 weeks in a company

Our teaching method is based on your experience within the company, giving you the keys to observe, discover, try out, and practise in the field.

It allows you to develop your knowledge, skills and interpersonal skills step by step. To complement this practice, we have:

  • A technical platform equipped with machinery and a remote-controlled tracked tool carrier
  • A machine operation simulator
  • And also: numerous practical exercises on training construction sites, educational visits, and project support

Our training centre is situated on the edge of the Mormal Forest, the largest forest in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais regions.

It enables you to apply for roles such as:

For 12 months: 10 200 €

(Training costs are covered by OPCOs and funding obtained by the CFA. There is therefore no remaining cost for the apprentice and the company.).

Be aged between 16 and 29

  • To have signed an apprenticeship contract with a company
  • Hold a degree in Level 3 minimum (CAP / Vocational qualification)

8 to 12 learners

  • Be at least 16 years old in the first year of the course
  • To have demonstrated an understanding of the principles of spatial planning

Access :

  • Admission is based on an application, following an individual interview and a placement test
  • Enrolment on the training course in September of the current year, subject to the signing of an apprenticeship contract

Continuous assessment across 7 skills evaluated through elicitation interviews based on professional situations.

Credit-bearing modules are independent of one another and can be taken in any order.

The qualification is awarded as soon as the 7 constituent modules are obtained.

  • Premises: Fire safety regulations for public buildings (ERP) – Premises accessible to people with reduced mobility
  • Possible academic guidance and adaptation, mentored by a disability officer
