The training

Objectives

The CAPa in Agricultural Trades (MA), Field Crops specialisation, supplemented by the Ruminant Livestock Farming module, aims to train skilled farm workers capable of carrying out versatile work on an agricultural holding.

The training course strives to develop genuine personal, academic and professional qualities.

What next?

Further study

The two-year CAPa course can also lead to further study towards a Vocational Baccalaureate, either through school-based study or an apprenticeship. This option depends on the pupil’s motivation and academic ability.

career prospects

The CAPa in Agricultural Trades aims to train qualified staff for agricultural holdings. The main focus of this CAPa is on arable farming. The supplementary module covers the rearing of ruminants (cattle and sheep).

Target audience

The Certificate of Professional Competence in Agriculture (CAPa) is aimed at pupils from 3rd, of Year 3 SEGPA or from an ULIS class, wishing to enter the professional world at the end of their training or acquire an initial qualification enabling them to continue their training after secondary school.

Prerequisite

To come from Year 9 class (general, SEGPA or other route)
Show an interest in farming, nature and working outdoors
To be motivated by practical activities and manual work

Access conditions

Pre-registration can be done from November, by making an appointment with the Head of the Secondary School. This is an opportunity to clarify the information received, complete the administrative file and register for the discovery work experience.

Assessment methods

Two types of assessment determine the awarding of the qualification:

On the one hand, and for the most part, a continuous assessment scheme (CCF), organised within the school
Furthermore, a final assessment focusing on professional practice, which marks the end of the course
