The training

State Diploma of Level 4, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. Registered in the RNCP on 01-01-2026, under number 41391.
Objectives
  • Carry out a tailored assessment of a tree population
  • Organise a construction site
  • Safely carry out consolidation work
  • Safely carrying out pruning work
  • Carry out a removal (dismantling) project

UC1 – Establish a diagnosis of an amenity tree during the initial site visit and the operationalisation of the order

C1.1. Design an intervention on an ornamental tree

C1.2. Operationalising an order on a construction site

UC2 – Carry out maintenance work at height on ornamental trees

C2.1. Pruning an ornamental tree

C2.2. Install a bracing system in an ornamental tree

UC3 – Carry out ornamental tree removal work

C3.1. Carry out the dismantling of an ornamental tree

C3.2. Carry out the manual directional felling of an amenity tree

The training course takes place over 1 year (from September to June):

  • 18 weeks per year in a training centre (630 hours)
  • 33 weeks on a work placement

Our teaching method is based on your experience within the company, giving you the keys to observe, discover, try out, and practise in the field.

It allows you to develop your knowledge, skills and interpersonal skills step by step. To complement this practice, we have:

  • From a technical platform equipped with construction equipment and machinery
  • A wooded 6-hectare training ground near the establishment
  • And also: numerous practical exercises on training construction sites, educational visits, and project support

What next?

Further study

The specialisation certificate aims at direct employment following the training. It is therefore preferable to complete this specialisation at the end of the course.

career prospects

The holder of the specialisation certificate can work in:

  • A tree surgery company,
  • At a landscape gardener's who is developing a complementary tree-surgery business,
  • In a forestry contracting company that also develops a complementary tree surgery and epicormic pruning activity
  • Within the green spaces department of a local authority

Price

  • For 12 months: €9,800

Apprenticeship: Training funded by OPCOs and the funding obtained by the CFA. There are therefore no out-of-pocket costs for the apprentice or the company.

Continuing professional development: Study of potential funding options depending on status: self-funding, career transition, etc. – to be discussed with the centre.

Adults wishing to acquire specific skills in the field of activity through work-based learning.

  • Having successfully completed a training cycle of Level 4 minimum
  • Being attentive and mindful of safety
  • Having a good level of physical fitness and a willingness to work hard

8 to 12 learners

  • Enrolment by application following an individual interview and a practical and theoretical placement test
  • Enrolment on the training course in September of the current year, subject to the signing of an apprenticeship contract

Qualification organised and delivered in capitalisable units (UC) specific to continuing vocational training and apprenticeships.

The CUs can be obtained independently and are valid for a period of 5 years.

Each UC corresponds to a competence in the certification framework, which is assessed in a professional situation and through an explanatory interview on practices evaluated on site.

  • Premises: Fire safety regulations for public buildings (ERP) – Premises accessible to people with reduced mobility
  • Possible academic guidance and adaptation, mentored by a disability officer
