Well-being
core educational principle
A space of discovery and experimentation.
The Genech site features an educational farm that is constantly evolving, offering a genuine space for discovery, learning and experimentation. Spanning nearly two hectares, it hosts more than sixty species, domestic or more atypical, evolving in environments specially designed to meet their needs and ensure their well-being.
This living space includes, in particular, a pet shop, offering learners the opportunity to discover and observe a wide variety of animals: small mammals, fish and aquarium plants, familiar and soothing species, but also more surprising animals such as certain reptiles.
Learners at the heart of the system.
Learners play an active role at the heart of this programme. The educational farm serves as a key teaching resource integrated into many courses, combining theoretical learning with practical, real-life scenarios. There, they develop technical skills related to the care of animals, the maintenance of their living spaces and adherence to the fundamental principles of animal welfare.
This educational workshop also promotes empowering young people through contact with living things. By learning to observe, understand and care for different species, pupils acquire essential practical and interpersonal skills. The educational farm thus becomes a genuine place of learning and discovery, as enriching for young people as it is fascinating for visitors.
