The training

Objectives

Develop technical and commercial skills to:

welcome, listen to and advise the customer in a garden centre or pet shop according to their needs
master point-of-sale sales techniques, including in a digital context
highlighting products (plants, animals and related products) and participating in their commercialisation
deploy technical knowledge in order to provide relevant and responsible advice
contribute to sales promotion, stock replenishment and shelf management
adopt an appropriate professional attitude and work as a team
guide the client while ensuring animal welfare and the responsible management of plants and the environment

Immerse yourself in the professional world through:

weeks dedicated to real-life professional situations
practical applications within organisations dedicated to the garden sector (including plants, tools, pet shops, etc.)
work placements that promote career entry

Work placements in a professional environment range from 18 to 22 weeks over the three years of training:

Prerequisite

Admission after a Year 9 class
Interest in retail, plants and/or animals
Good interpersonal skills, customer service oriented and strong communication skills
Motivation for teamwork and in a professional environment

Access conditions

Pre-enrolment can be done from November, via an appointment with the Headteacher of the Vocational Lycée. This is an opportunity to clarify the information received and to complete the administrative file.

Assessment methods

Continuous assessment and final exams after the three years of training.

Work placement periods are the subject of a portfolio, which the student must present as part of the exam.
