Objectives

The course aims to provide students with a thorough general education, to develop their critical thinking and autonomy, and to prepare them effectively for higher education and their choices of specialisms.

  • A secondary school that is a member of the UNESCO network of schools and is open to international opportunities: European sections, exchange programmes with foreign secondary schools, and the awarding of foreign qualifications (American High School Diploma, Certilingua certification)

Supplementary courses offered to help students prepare for higher education

  • In the first year of upper secondary school, an «Animax» module linked to the Biology-Ecology specialism, enabling pupils to explore the various career paths related to the animal world and to foster their scientific curiosity
  • In the final year of secondary school, preparatory courses (Objectif +) are offered for medical and paramedical studies, political science, and entrance exams for engineering and business schools, depending on the specialisms chosen by the pupils

Digital tools to support success

  • Eliott — Eliott, an AI-powered learning assistant, supports pupils across all subjects, including specialised subjects and modern languages. Acting as a genuine tutor, it guides pupils in their reasoning without simply providing the answers. Year 10 pupils have free access; families of Year 11 and Year 12 pupils can subscribe at a preferential rate negotiated by the school
  • MathLive — MathLive is a platform dedicated to maths, offering interactive exercises and personalised support to help pupils progress at their own pace and prepare for assessments. Families can access the platform at a preferential rate negotiated by the school

  • Euro Section – English, German, Spanish (2 hrs/week) – Year 12 and Year 13
  • Physical Education and Sport (3 hours per week) – Year 11 and Year 12
  • Equine Studies and Horse Riding (2½ hours per week) – Year 11 and Year 13

The Institut de Genech Group offers «Objectif +», a programme open to Year 13 pupils, designed to prepare them for entrance exams to the grandes écoles and for degrees in healthcare, veterinary science or political science. It focuses on practising multiple-choice questions, familiarising pupils with the requirements of post-A-level study and preparing them for the pace of the first year of university.re year.

A choice of four routes:

  • Engineering + preparation for engineering school entrance exams (Puissance Alpha, GEIPI, Avenir)
  • Comm + preparation for business and management schools (Accès, Sésame)
  • Bio + preparation for healthcare and veterinary studies
  • Sciences Po + introductory course on political science and the major issues of the contemporary world

This specific preparation, focused on multiple-choice question training and competitive examination requirements, helps students familiarise themselves with the pace and standard expected in higher education. It also includes discussions with former students and an immersion in post-secondary expectations.

The General Baccalaureate is aimed at pursuing further studies in Higher Education (preparatory classes for the *grandes écoles*, universities, BTS or DUT, Vocational Bachelor's degrees, engineering schools, etc.) depending on abilities and targeted professions.

Students wishing to continue to a General Baccalauréat to consolidate their general knowledge and prepare for a variety of higher education studies.

Having completed a Year 10 (General and Technological) with satisfactory results.

Admission into Year 12 will be granted upon a favourable recommendation from the orientation committee at the end of Year 11 (Seconde Générale et Technologique), and subject to available places. It is recommended to complete a pre-registration application early during Year 11 by making an appointment with the executive assistant of the General Teaching Sixth Form College.

  • 40 % continuous assessment from the 1st
  • 60% in the final examinations (written French, oral French, mathematics, two specialised subjects, philosophy, grand oral)
  • Premises: Fire safety regulations for public buildings (ERP) – Premises accessible to people with reduced mobility
  • Possible academic guidance and adaptation, mentored by a disability officer
