The training

Objectives

Train skilled professionals in the various branches of horticultural production: vegetable growing, flower production, plant nurseries and arboriculture
Acquire crop management techniques (sowing, planting, maintenance, harvesting)
Learn how to manage and optimise production (quality, yield, work organisation)
Master professional horticultural practices relating to plants (horticulture, market gardening, nursery work, etc.)
Develop teamwork and operations management skills
Learn about the realities of the professional world through work placements and practical scenarios

Rhythm

Work placements in a professional environment range from 18 to 22 weeks over the three years of training:

6 to 7 weeks in Year 11; ;
14 weeks spread over the First and Final years of Sixth Form

Prerequisite

Admission after a Year 9 class
Interest in agriculture, plants and the environment
A taste for practical, hands-on, outdoor work

Access conditions

Pre-enrolment can be done from November, via an appointment with the Headteacher of the Vocational Lycée. This is an opportunity to clarify the information received and to complete the administrative file.

Assessment methods

Continuous assessment and final exams after the three years of training.

Work placement periods are the subject of a portfolio, which the student must present as part of the exam.
