The training

State Diploma of Level 5, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. Registered in the RNCP on 30-11-2023 under number 38349.
Objectives
  • Gain a comprehensive mastery of landscaping across technical, conceptual, organisational and economic levels
  • Design, size, estimate, sell, implement and manage landscaping projects
  • Organising and supervising creation or maintenance projects in compliance with sustainable development
  • Take part in the development of landscape projects for businesses or local authorities using an eco-responsible approach
  • Contribute to the technical and economic management of construction sites and projects
  • Participate in work organisation, team management and skills management
  • Communicate about projects, the profession and issues related to the environment and sustainable development

Apprenticeship
  • Module 1: Engaging with Today’s World (General knowledge, expression, communication and analysis of social issues)
  • UE 2: Personal and Career Development (Career guidance, entry into the world of work and career planning)
  • Module 3: Economic, legal and social organisation (Regulatory framework, labour law, the functioning of the landscaping sector)
  • Module 4: Managing a landscaping business (Financial management, organising a site, managing operations)
  • Module 5: Design and Planning of Landscaped Areas (Site analysis, project design, plans and technical decisions)
  • Module 6: Site management and construction (Site organisation and supervision, landscaping and planting techniques)
  • Unit 7: Management and maintenance of landscaped areas (Maintenance of landscaping, ecological and sustainable management of green spaces)
  • Unit 8: Professional simulation / projects (Practical work, design projects and field experience)

School

  • A 12- to 16-week work placement, which can be undertaken in France or abroad
  • Thanks to our network of European internship supervisors, more than half of our students take part in an international exchange programme during their studies. The experience gained during their placements forms the basis of their final assessment.
  • Two compulsory study trips: to England and to a major city in the Mediterranean region

APPRENTICESHIP

  • Year 1: 710 hours at the training centre, 897 hours in a work placement
  • Year 2: 726 hours at the training centre, 881 hours in a work placement
  • Design of real-world projects for private and public-sector clients
  • Mineral creation sites carried out in real-life conditions
  • Active learning approaches: project-based learning, Problem-Based Learning, flipped classroom
  • Training in professional software: AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Jardicad
  • Supplier visits and construction sites
  • Partnerships with local authorities

  • Landscape architecture colleges offering the D.E. qualification in France (Versailles, Lille, Bordeaux, Blois) and internationally (Quebec, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy)
  • Engineering schools offering apprenticeship programmes (e.g. AgroCampus Ouest – Angers, ITIAPE – ISA Lille)
  • Professional bachelor’s degrees in landscape architecture and related fields
  • General undergraduate degrees then Master's degrees (town planning, spatial planning, land management – universities and specialist schools)

  • Non-resident student: from €156 per month
  • Student residing at the Institute: from €342 per month

* Base rate including family contributions and/or meals and/or accommodation depending on the learner's status. Additional fees not included. Payable over 10 months.

APPRENTICESHIP

For 12 months: 8 400 €

(Training costs are covered by OPCOs and funding obtained by the CFA. There is therefore no remaining cost for the apprentice and the company.).

  • Young people interested in landscape design and the environment
  • People drawn to careers in the field, design and project management
  • Applicants wishing to work in a landscape gardening company, a design office or a local authority
  • Holding at least a degree in Level 4 (A-level)
  • For apprenticeships: aged between 16 and 29 (exemptions possible in certain situations)

  • Applicants apply via the Parcoursup platform
  • Admission based on academic record (grades + motivation)

APPRENTICESHIP

  • Application via Parcoursup or directly with the institution
  • One-to-one interview and placement test
  • Entry onto the training course is conditional upon validation and signature of the apprenticeship contract

Continuous assessment certification exams

APPRENTICESHIP

Passing the exam is determined by the learner's results during their training (Continuous Assessment for Certification) and by their results in the 3 final tests (communication/argumentation/expression, technical and economic management of worksites, and development of a landscaping project).

  • Premises: Fire safety regulations for public buildings (ERP) – Premises accessible to people with reduced mobility
  • Possible academic guidance and adaptation, mentored by a disability officer
