The training

Level 4 State Diploma, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. Registered in the RNCP under number 39679.
Objectives

The holder of the CS is required to work in a producing and/or trading yard, depending on their mastery of the following professional objectives:

  • Techniques for the education and training of the young horse
  • Sales techniques for the marketing of young equines
  • Management of the overall activity of an equestrian business
  • Mobilise the equine science knowledge required for the reception, training and physical conditioning of young equines
  • Mastering the techniques and partners related to the care, backing and production of the young horse
  • Training the young horse according to its future use
  • Assist with the management and development of sales operations
  • 490 hours in a training centre
  • Alternating schedule: one week out of three in the workplace
  • A work-study programme
  • Project management
  • Discussions with professionals
  • Group work
  • Developing the career plan
  • The improvement of equestrian techniques
  • Deepening of theoretical knowledge

For 12 months: 9 800 €

(Training costs are covered by OPCOs and funding obtained by the CFA. There is therefore no remaining cost for the apprentice and the company.).

Apprenticeship training is open to young people aged from 15 to 29 years old.

  • Having a valid FFE licence, with the Stage 6 riding test inscribed on it
  • Hold a Vocational A-level equivalent CGEH or CGEA, or a general baccalaureate (with the possibility of an exemption)
  • Having signed an apprenticeship contract in an equine valorisation company
  • To be selected by application, then pass a written and riding assessment

Note: Age and qualification waivers may be granted depending on the candidate's profile.

Interview within 30 days of initial contact

The skills of the training course are organised into Capitalisable Units (UCs), which are validated during the course.

  • Each module is valid for 5 years
  • Passing all the UCs is required to obtain the qualification
  • Premises: Fire safety regulations for public buildings (ERP) – Premises accessible to people with reduced mobility
  • Possible academic guidance and adaptation, mentored by a disability officer
