The training

Level 4 State Diploma, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. Registered in the RNCP on 24/11/2023 under number 38314
Objectives
  • Organise the work following a construction site approach
  • Working with plants (plant knowledge, appropriate care)
  • Use and maintain equipment (tractor, mini-excavator, loaders, etc.)
  • Work on the landscaped area
  • Calculate and track construction site costs
  • Leading a team and communicating

GENERAL TEACHING MODULES

  • Positioning oneself as a landscaping professional
  • Identification of the characteristics and main mechanisms at work in ecosystems
  • Assessment of the impacts of landscaping practices on
  • ecosystems
  • Contextualisation of landscape gardening professional activity
  • Developing a professional stance

TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION MODULES

  • Organise the work on a landscaping site (prepare and coordinate work on a site)
  • Carry out plant maintenance work (pruning, plant protection and soil improvement work)
  • Carry out plant installation work (planting work, establishment of vegetation by seeding)
  • Install infrastructure (low walls, fencing, traffic routes, patios, etc.)
  • Adapting to specific professional challenges based on the regional context

APPRENTICESHIP

The training programme takes place over 2 years (800 hours):

  • 12 weeks a year in a training centre (400 hours)
  • 40 weeks a year in a company
  • Active and varied teaching methods: supplier and site visits, problem-based learning, thematic projects, group work, knowledge sharing, and practical work in the training centre and on placement
  • Pedagogy grounded in corporate experience, fostering observation, discovery, experimentation and practical application in the field
  • Provision of technical facilities: technical platform equipped with construction equipment and machinery, driving simulator
  • Numerous practical exercises: training worksites, educational visits, project support

What next?

career prospects

After obtaining the BP in Landscape Design and Maintenance, direct entry into employment is possible in a private company specialising in green spaces or in towns and other public bodies with a green spaces department.

APPRENTICESHIP (2 years)

For 12 months: €7,900

(The training is funded by the OPCOs and the CFA. The apprentice and the company therefore have no costs to cover.)

  • Young people aged between 16 and 29 wishing to acquire field-specific skills through work-based learning
  • Holding a degree in Level 3 in the field of spatial planning
  • Being attentive and mindful of safety
  • Good physical fitness
  • Mastering basic skills (speaking, reading, writing and numeracy in French)

APPRENTICESHIP: 12 people

One-to-one interview and placement test.

Qualification organised and awarded in capitalisable units (UC) specific to apprenticeships.

The CUs can be obtained independently and are valid for a period of 5 years.

Each UC corresponds to a competence in the certification framework, which is assessed in a professional situation and through an explanatory interview on practices evaluated on site.

  • Premises: Fire safety regulations for public buildings (ERP) – Premises accessible to people with reduced mobility
  • Possible academic guidance and adaptation, mentored by a disability officer
